This report provides comprehensive information about cancer incidence, mortality, survival and prevalence in Ontario. To
develop a clear understanding of the burden of cancer on the population, it is important to consider the number of people
affected, their age and sex, and the region where they live. This information is intended to support decision-makers, the
public health community, healthcare providers, researchers and others in planning, investigating, measuring and monitoring
population-based cancer control efforts, including those related to cancer screening, prevention and treatment. This report may
also be useful for the media and general public with an interest in cancer.
