By appropriating the Guide de référence pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées, participants have a tool to help prevent and identify cases of abuse and to better intervene to stop them.

The workshop explores the various resources in the Guide, such as:

• Identifying and validating an indication of abuse;
• Creating trust;
• Exploring and evaluating the situation;
• Estimating the danger;
• Promoting the recognition of situations of abuse;
• Developing and implementing an IP or an IIP;
• Applying emergency measures;
• Providing health care and assistance;
• Providing support for legal proceedings.
