The Intersectoral Action Fund In recent years, communities across Canada have faced immense and complex public health challenges, which amplified the need for better prevention, preparedness and resiliency of our public health system.  The objective of the Fund is to support action on the SDOH by strengthening capacity in communities to advance upstream ISA, in ways that improve population health, reduce health inequities, and strengthen community resiliency. Call for proposals: First Nations Baseline Assessment Program on Health and the Environment 
Indigenous Services Canada’s First Nations Baseline Assessment Program on Health and the Environment (BAPHE) is inviting First Nations communities and organizations, to submit an application to the program that will enable the collection and analysis of the current state of selected human health and environmental indicators prior to the implementation of a major project. The deadline to submit an application is November 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. Projects that are recommended for funding will begin on April 1, 2025. Learn more.

Consultation on proposed streamlining of requirements for cannabis 
Health Canada is pleased to announce the publication of the proposed Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Concerning Cannabis (Streamlining of Requirements), Order Amending the Cannabis Tracking System Order (Cultivation Waste) and Order Amending Schedule 2 to the Cannabis Act in the Canada Gazette, Part I. 

Health Canada is seeking further feedback on these proposed amendments and invites stakeholders and partners to participate in a 30-day public comment period from June 8, 2024 until 11:59 pm EDT on July 8, 2024. Feedback is requested via the online commenting feature. For guidance and instructions on submitting your comments, please refer to the Canada Gazette website. 

First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Survey On June 19, 2024, the Federal Court approved the first Claims Process focused on the Removed Child and Removed Child Family Classes. The Administrator is gathering feedback from all Class Members through a survey. It will inform the measurement and evaluation of communications efforts required by the Court-approved Notice Plan to help ensure that communication about the Settlement and Claims Process is clear and meets the needs of Class Members.
