Scholarships, awards and grants
Prix Hommage Aînés The Quebec government’s Prix Hommage Aînés recognizes the contribution of a senior volunteer in his or her region, promoting the well-being of seniors and their increased participation in society. Find out more.
Funding – Climate change initiative The FNQLSDI has been given the mandate to support First Nations leadership in the climate transition by funding community projects. To this end, the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP), has granted an envelope of 6,3M dollars as part of the Green Economy Plan 2030. Projects will benefit from a budget of $500,000 and can be spread over 3 years. Are you interested? Answer just a few quick questions.
Tahatikonhsontóntie’s funding opportunities ERRSA-Qc invites you to participate in its annual graduate scholarship competition. The organization will award two (2) master’s scholarships and one (1) doctoral scholarship. The goal of the graduate scholarship program is to foster the acquisition of research skills and support the training of Aboriginal students (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) for their master’s and doctoral degrees at a Quebec institution. Joyce Echaquan Scholarship UQAT and INRS launch the call for applications to the second scholarship Joyce Echaquan. This scholarship is offered by the Fonds de recherche du Québec who wishes to support the professor’s Suzy Basile (UQAT) and Carole Lévesque (INRS) initiative who awarded a $36 000 scholarship over two years to an Indigenous student at the Master’s level. This scholarship was created in memory of Joyce Echaquan with the support of her family. To be eligible, the students must be registered as a graduate student at UQAT or INRS for the Fall 2024 term. The completed file must be submitted to reseaudialog@ucs.inrs.ca no later than June 30, 2024. Register now.

Call for projects to support the vitality of Aboriginal cultures, languages and media launched The Ministère de la Culture et des Communications has launched a call for projects to promote Indigenous cultures, languages and media, as part of the Appel de projets pour les Autochtones program. The call for projects, which will run until May 17, 2024, is part of the government’s Action Plan for the Social and Cultural Well-Being of First Nations and Inuit 2022-2027. Learn more. Income security and social inclusion
Health Careers – 2024 Summer jobs The First Nations and Inuit Health Careers Program is specifically designed to encourage and support First Nations and Inuit participation in educational opportunities leading to professional careers in a health field. This Program funds summer jobs for First Nations and Inuit studying at College and University in a field related to health. These jobs must be available within Québec Aboriginal communities or non-profit Aboriginal organizations providing direct services to First Nations and Inuit of Québec. Financial support program for Indigenous Family organizations This program provides financial support for the operation of a Family organization, or for the enhancement of Family community activities within an existing organization.
