In the September 2020 Speech from the Throne, the Government of Canada reiterated itscommitment to support reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, including strengthening its resolve to “fully implement Joyce’s Principle and ensure it guides work to co-develop distinctions-based Indigenous health legislation to foster health systems that will respect and ensure the safety and well-being of Indigenous peoples.”
