Two topics related to the health and social services governance process were discussed during the 2019 pre-annual general assembly of the FNQLHSSC.
Preliminary results from the analysis of funding in health and social services following community visits were presented. Workshops allowed the participants to exchange on corporate services that community health centres and nursing stations benefit from and on how local program and service performance is currently assessed.
Since the beginning of the governance process, representatives from communities and organizations have wished to adopt a holistic approach that represents the First Nations vision of health and wellness. During this meeting, those in attendance began to reflect on wellness in order to reach a common understanding of it that will guide, within the new governance model, local and collective initiatives and serve as a reference for assessing and tracking the evolution and improvement of wellness of First Nations.
