The FNQLHSSC has provided a mandate to carry out a summary scan of the needs of the First Nations people with disabilities and special needs. This will allow for the establishment of a summary portrait of the current situation and the identification of possible solutions in order to improve access to health and social services and care intended for people with disabilities and special needs. In addition, the scan will review the current laws and policies as well as the services that are provided and their accessibility.
