The QFNIFMP has been established since 2008 with the objective to increase the number of practicing physicians from the First Nations and Inuit (FNI) in Quebec so that they can contribute to improving the quality of the medical services intended for Indigenous populations in Quebec. It also helps to raise awareness among non-Indigenous medical students of the realities of FNI, particularly through internships in the communities.
