Individuals and families

Providing services that are intended for the First Nations population

Supporting individuals and families

In collaboration with the First Nations communities and organizations, we inform the First Nations in Quebec and provide them with tools on various matters related to health and wellness, such as healthy lifestyles, elder care and wellness, physical activity, youth protection, mental health, sexual health and non-violence, among others. More broadly, our team organizes and deploys information, prevention and awareness campaigns promoting individual and collective informed awareness in terms of health and wellness.

Among other things, our team handles the processing of complaints filed against childcare services in First Nations communities in Quebec and provides advice aimed at promoting access to services. For example, we disseminate information on rights and remedies in terms of access to and quality of health and social services as well as Jordan’s Principle.

Coordinating the Faculties of Medicine Program

In collaboration with four faculties of medicine and other partners, we coordinate the Quebec First Nations and Inuit Faculties of Medicine Program. We support future physicians over the course of their academic journeys. Our team also organizes preclinical internships in communities and organizations.
