What is the status of the Quebec First Nations health and social services governance process?

Community tour

Since March 2021, the FNQLHSSC has undertaken a tour of the communities to ensure a good understanding of the health and wellness governance model and to continue its co-development. It is also an ideal opportunity to respond to participants’ questions and concerns, as well as to strengthen the mobilization of communities and organizations with a view to renewed governance.

To date, six communities have been consulted. More dates will be added shortly. The goal is to meet with First Nations communities and organizations in Quebec over the course of the coming months.

Everyone’s involvement is essential for the success of the process. If you have any questions, you can contact the person in charge of the community tour, Natacha Hervieux at natacha.hervieux@cssspnql.com.

Regional meeting

In addition, a regional meeting is scheduled for December 15, 2021. The invitation was extended to all health and social services directors, chiefs and political advisors, general directors, tribal councils and other organizations.

The purpose of this meeting is to present an update on the progress of the work as well as elements of the environment which influence the development of the governance process.

Participants will also be invited to enhance the work done so far on the service offer of a future regional body.
