What’s new for team EDN?

The FNQLHSSC coordinates the participation of team EDN in Indigenous sporting events across the country. In fact, since 2017, it has brought together athletes from communities in Quebec to participate in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC). Here are the various activities underway associated with these two major events.

NAIG

The next edition of the NAIG will take place in Halifax from July 15 to 23, 2023. To simplify communications, especially for the athletes and coaches of the team, a community representative responsible for transmitting information related to the NAIG has been designated in each community.

The selection camps for young people aged 12 to 19 years will be held in the summer of 2022 in the 14 disciplines represented at the NAIG: archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, canoeing, golf, box lacrosse, rifle shooting, soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball and wrestling.

NAHC

The FNQLHSSC also coordinates the participation of team EDN in the next NAHC. It will take place from May 7 to 14, 2022 in Membertou, Nova Scotia. A women’s team and a men’s team will represent the province of Quebec at these Championships.

Finally, please note that a selection camp for young hockey players will be held in Wendake on January 7 and 8, 2022. 18U bantam and midget players (born between 2004 and 2008) will be able to participate in this camp. Full details on the selection camp and the registration process are available on team EDN website. Please note that the registration period will close on December 20, 2021.

Redesign of the team’s website

In addition, team EDN is currently carrying out a complete overhaul of its website. Stay tuned! A new design and simplified navigation will be offered to you in the coming weeks.
